GMC Unveiled Hummer EV - All you need to know about the future e-supertruck.

GMC has unveiled the all electric version of hummer HUMMER EV. General motor's Iconic gasoline Hummer model discontinued in 2010 and they have come back with an all electric version of Hummer. This Hummer EV will appear first as a pickup truck and later as an SUV. This exciting futuristic EV can be pre-ordered now and is expected to go in production in the end of 2021.

As per reports, there are four variants of the new Hummer EV which are listed below.

• Edition 1
• Hummer EV2
• Hummer EV2X
• Hummer EV3X

At first only the most expensive model ie; Edition 1 will be available and rest of the model will come into picture only on 2022 or after.

Specifications

In available powertrain of Hummer EV, three electric motor together makes 1000 horsepower. It has an AWD System which can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. Company is quoting a torque of 11,500 lb-ft from this powertrain. 

With GM's new Ultium battery pack technology, Hummer EV has an estimated range of 350 miles (560 KM) on single charge. It will have 800 Volt electrical architecture with 350 KW fast charging capability, thus can give 100 miles (160 KM) of range in 10 minute charging. During this charging time Ultium battery switch from parallel to serial mode. Battery pack capacity is expected to be between 150-200 kWh.

Starter edition Edition 1 is equipped with Infinity roof, The watts of freedom mode, adaptive dampers, Off-road package (Under body protection and 35 inch tyre), All wheel steering with crabwalk and Super cruise technology. Rest of the models will be launched in 2022 and is expected to have almost all the features of Edition 1.

Hummer EVs cabin is spacious and have many attractive features like large 13.4 inch infotainment display and 12.3 inch digital instrument panel. Graphics of infotainment system is designed by Epic games, a widely popular Fortnite videogame maker. It has all types of standard connectivity features including Apple CarPlay, Android auto capability, Wifi hotspot and GM's OnStar telematics system.

Hummer EV has a novel removable roof that resembles popular designs of GM Sports and Muscle cars of 70s and 80s. Inside several designs that inspired from the moon are there such as moon-boot footprint on the dead pedal and speaker grilles that show the sea of Tranquility.

• Hummer EV2 - $79,995
• Hummer EV2X - $89,995
• Hummer EV3X - $99,995

At Market launch time, only Edition 1 will be available. After this Hummer EV3X will the next one to be launched and scheduled on 2022. Then EV2X and EV2 will go on sale in 2023 and 2024 respectively and they have less powerful engine with only two motors.

In future electric vehicles, SUVs and pick up tricks will be the frontiers. Apart from GM, many other companies like Tesla, Ford, Rivian, Bollinger etc are coming up with future electric pick up trucks.
