Tesla Roadster 2020 - An Overview of the Fastest production car in the world.

Tesla is one of the biggest names when it comes to Electric vehicles. They have produced many stunning e-cars that heavily competes with the big names of fossil fuel cars. Tesla has launched Roadster 2020 version in November 2017 which is an all electric sports car and becomes the Fastest street legal production car in the world to date at its announcement. Tesla gained worldwide attention when in December 2017, Elon Musk  announced his Cherry Tesla roadster as a payload of Falcon heavy test flight launched by SpaceX.

Tesla roadster can accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in 1.9 seconds, which makes it quickest accelerating production cars in the world. Top speed of the car is 250 mph and have a range of 620 miles on single charge. Charger is offboard type charger, supercharger V3 ie above 350 kW DC.

Second generation Tesla Roadster is a Four seater sports car with removable glass roof.  This sophisticated design was done by American Automobile designer  Franz von Hoizhausen who previously worked at Mazda and Volkswagen.

Tesla Roadster is a Standard all wheel drive vehicle with three electric motors, 3 Phase AC Induction motor, one in front and two in rear which produces 288 hp and a Wheel torque of 10,000 Nm. This vehicle has torque vectoring technology which allows the vehicle differential with the ability to vary the torque to each wheel. This method of power transfer becomes popular in all wheel drive vehicles.

Battery capacity is 200 kWh, Li ion type, which is twice the capacity of the largest battery in an existing Tesla car and much more than any other production electric cars.

Another interesting point is the SpaceX package provided by the company which includes 10 small rocket thrusters arranged seamlessly around the car which dramatically improves acceleration, top speed, braking and cornering and maybe even allowing the car to Fly!!

Elon musk in 2018 Tweeted that they are dying to do the production of Roadster but their primary focus is to make affordable Electric cars and bringing into market. It was expected that Roadster second edition enter into mass production on late 2020, but it is a matter of question now is it possible due to Covid 19 pandemic.

In Tesla website, Base pricing is $200,000 and for Founder series edition price is $250,000. What do you think of the pricing??
