Cheaper and Fully autonomous TESLA in three years - Tesla Battery day Highlights.

The much awaited Tesla Battery Day was held on 22nd September 2020.  It was Annual meeting of  stakeholders and at live presentation  Elon Musk teased the possibility of affordable fully autonomous tesla car in three years. Price hinted and reported by top magazines is $25,000 (£ 19,600) and "This has always been our dream to make an affordable electric car" Musk said.

Tesla Founder Elon Musk has announced that the technology they are developing will make Tesla batteries cheaper and more powerfull.

One of the key announcement was the Tesla's larger Cylindrical cells. It will be able to provide five times more energy, six times more power and 16%  greater driving range. But the production in full swing takes around 3 years.

Tesla's approach is in the way that by reducing the weight, capacity and price of the battery, as battery is the important structure of EVs, they can make affordable electric cars with good range. Even average electric vehicle price decreased in recent years, still it has a long way to go.

Elon musk said " We don't have an affordable car. That's something we will have in the future. But we've got to get the cost of batteries down" in his speech in front of 240 stakeholders, each sitting in Tesla model 3.

As a plan to reduce the battery cost, Musk announced that Tesla itself would begin to make batteries in one of their plant along with purchasing batteries from Panasonic and LG Chem. According to reports, Tesla is planning to produce the new cell through highly automated continuous motion assembly process.

Elon musk also said Tesla is implementing single piece casting for front and rear body. In order to do that they will be using largest casting machine ever been made and for that they have to develop their own alloy that does not require codings or heat treatments. Experts believes that this will be huge game changer in manufacturing process.

Tesla is also aiming to reach 1 TWh scale battery production, which is 1000 times more than GW. They have been consistently working to improve the technologies and affordability of electric vehicles and now became the most valuable car company in the world. 

Elon musk said that they will continue to focus on clean energy, energy storage and clean transportation also Tesla's success will be based on "by how many years they can accelerate sustainable energy".

In every aspect Tesla and Elon Musk is leading the way to make electric vehicles more popular and affordable. And it is necessary for clean and sustainable future.
